Create a space on the DHQ public web site where readers can view the DHQ list of topic keywords and use them as a browsing interface for DHQ articles. The source code for the topic keywords is in XML, here.
Where should it live?
In the current DHQ site design, this should be linked from a "Topic Index" (or similar wording) link grouped with the Author and Title indexes, at the bottom of the listing of previous issues
This should live under the "Explore" menu in the new DHQ site design.
Desirable features include:
each topical term is displayed together with its scope notes/synonyms and description
from each topical term you can access a list of the articles that are tagged with that term (maybe with a show/hide or fold/unfold?, or a link to a separate page)
when viewing the results display, users can see a list of the additional keywords that apply to the found set, and can use those keywords as an additional filter
Ideally, it would be great if readers could select multiple topics and discover articles that are tagged with all or any of them.
Eventually, we might have topic terms in languages other than English, in which case it would be great to enable readers to choose the language in which to browse.
