Description:

To safeguard our water monitoring devices against loss due to being washed downstream, we need to equip them with GPS tracking capabilities. We have purchased NEO-6M GPS modules that will be integrated with our Raspberry Pi (RPi) units. This user story involves the following steps:

Hardware Integration:

• Physically connect the NEO-6M GPS module to the RPi.
• Ensure secure and reliable connections for continuous data transmission.
• A USB connection is fine for now. We can use the GPIO pins later if needed (that would be a pre-mature optimization now).

Configuration:

• Perform any necessary configurations to make the GPS module accessible to the RPi.
• Ensure that the GPS module is correctly recognized by the system and can communicate with the RPi.

Software Development:

• Develop Python code to interface with the GPS module, enabling it to read and extract longitude and latitude data.
• Integrate this functionality into the main loop of our existing Python program, ensuring real-time tracking.
• The extracted longitude and latitude values should be in float format for precision and ease of use.

Acceptance Criteria:

• The NEO-6M GPS module is physically connected to the Raspberry Pi and securely mounted.
• The GPS module is correctly recognized by the Raspberry Pi and is operational.
• Python code successfully extracts longitude and latitude data as float values.
