We need a way to import existing formats for 3d data.

Here is some great free data for research: http://lgdv.cs.fau.de/External/vollib/

I imagine this as a 3d ray scan using a voxel sampler at a predefined resolution. The big thing here is coming up, or finding a pre-existing file format to export things.
