Title
Virtual Reality symposium
Short paragraph for context (what you will do) or if you are offering to be a part of the collective & join other projects, what you can offer etc.
History of VR - mapping the terrain. What were the contexts that shaped VR then and what are the new possibilities of interest to art and design? A potted history of simulation and immersion from 'the sword of Damocles' onward
Looking at the body and identity in VR and what are the possibilities for art and design. Who are we and how are we represented? Who can we become. How does the body behave between here and there? How does it make us feel. What are the politics, ethics and rules for the virtual body?
What are the nature of virtual space and what is the potential in art and design for content creation? Where are we? Where can we be? What can we do? How do we make v space? How do we design and engage with spatial narratives?
How will VR shape the opportunities in the future for art and design? How will we work and make money? What are the new roles that will appear? What does the virtual artist designer do to survive?
