Number of others involved in the delivery (students, staff, industry, community groups or other Tate Exchange associates etc)
Myself, however I imagine my course tutors for the year, David Barnett and Ray O’Meara may like to provide support
Title
Keen to get involved in the opportunity, even if it’s for a pre-existing concept
Short paragraph for context (what you will do) or if you are offering to be a part of the collective & join other projects, what you can offer etc.
I am currently in my final year of the Graphic Design Communication programme at Chelsea. However, I took a year off from my studies last year, and focused on learning how to code using HTML, CSS and Javascript. I also did an internship at UsTwo in New York during this time (so it’s of any use, I have connections there!). In previous years, however, I’ve lead or created my own initiatives; in high school, I was the Yearbook Editor and I solely fundraised ~£2,500 for polio vaccinations on my own, and in Foundation year in Vancouver, Canada I lead a festival.
Coding has got me really passionate about emerging digital platforms, and I think my practice will ultimately focus away from graphic design, although this is still an important tool in my skill set.
How will the public get involved
Can’t say without a concept.
Type of event it is (workshop, intervention, gathering, performance etc)
I think I would prefer to use the Tate as a space for ‘intervention’, i.e. a place where I and the general public are both present, and the public come to for an interactive design experience (like a VR game, using their phones, etc) rather being a teaching space.
Equipment list (key kit you may need, large TV etc not guaranteed)
Potentially VR, laptops to connect, iPad to present
Dates you are committing to, can be all: below dates or any you wish at this stage (12pm to 6pm):
Weds 8th Feb
Weds 22nd Feb
*Weds 22nd March
Although this is rough commitment, dependent of College course commitments
The lead/team names
Alexander Neumann
