The lead/team names:

Mika Suetake (I am looking for more people to join this project)

Number of others involved in the delivery (students, staff, industry, community groups or other Tate Exchange associates etc):

Perhaps at least two students from UAL including myself to run. I am also hoping to have a visiting artist/designer. Any staff is very welcome to join too, though I am planning to keep it student-led.

Title:

Student-led Crit

Short paragraph for context (what you will do) or if you are offering to be a part of the collective & join other projects, what you can offer etc.:

I am planning to run a student-led crit perhaps at the end of each day for 60-90 minutes. It will be a casual event and anyone can participate. We will look into some works produced during the day at other workshops/projects or brought in by the public. I am hoping to make it around a group of 10 people each day.

It will be held in the Tate Exchange space, either walking around the space or staying in the same spot, and I am also considering to go to gallery space to include artists’ works in the crit if possible.

How will the public get involved (invited participants, targeted audiences i.e schools, groups)

It is for anyone who are interested in exchanging ideas in emergent digital technology in arts. Especially I would like to invite those who are at the event on the day participating other projects and workshops, so that they can have time to reflect their thoughts with what they have done, made, got to know on the day, with other participants who they have not talked to yet.

It may be interesting to invite a group of people from school, college or community who are interested in digital technology in arts. They can bring a piece of work to talk about or spend some time on the day and join the crit with what they have made then.

Type of event it is (workshop, intervention, gathering, performance etc):

Gathering/discussion

Education/Edu, Connection, open, engagement

Equipment list (key kit you may need, large TV etc not guaranteed) https://goo.gl/LJ95sL

None. (a camera to document the session)

Methods of how you propose to develop your session which includes the wider Collective involvement & contributions, meet-ups

I am going to have an open discussion to ask for opinions within the digital maker collective, and also look for those who would be interested in taking part in the crit and have regular meet-ups to develop the idea for the session.

Dates you are committing to, can be all: below dates or any you wish at this stage (12pm to 6pm):

All dates, from around 4pm to 5:30pm.

Mika this is perfect and would be great student led activity as we hope all the Tate Exchange activities proposed will evolve together from session to session - so we take what we learn from the first session into the second session through an iterative process where we explore the ideas, reflect, modify, rework & co-create with the individuals leading projects and involve the wider Collective.
