Definitions of Materiality infinitely expand through the distinct interactions of sound, surface and matter. New and existing possibilities of this domain arrive out of the interactions between digital and analogue processes and machines. This interplay offers a re-thinking of how the creation and meaning of sound can be produced and experienced; materiality as sound
This panel session will enliven the topic of Re-animating Materiality Through Sound with a series of lightning talks, presentations, and table top demonstrations
How will the public get involved (invited participants, targeted audiences i.e schools, groups)
Participants will be drawn from current CCW students, graduates, invited artists and an open call to the public – one part of the session will allow the public to turn up with table top demonstrations. The overall mood of the space will be an exchange space punctuated with curated talks
Type of event it is (workshop, intervention, gathering, performance etc)
Panel presentations, table top demonstrations and exchange space
Key words to help identify themes
Creative Thinking, Experimentation, Digital and Analogue Interactions, Sensory, Listening, Acoustics and Resonance
Equipment list (key kit you may need, large TV etc not guaranteed)
I can provide a laptop and data projector
I will need amps, speakers, extension cables, tables and pin up space
Naturally some zoning of sound is required in order to hear the pieces of work
Methods of how you propose to develop your session which includes the wider Collective involvement & contributions, meet-ups
Any member of the collective can respond to the open call. In addition I will be working with selective graduates and students for the curated elements of the programme
