Identity a standard convention for image naming #3

I propose a convention of underscore-separated filenames with the following structure: project name_book title_2 digit volume_3 digit page

For example, piranesi_book_17_002.jpeg for the 2nd page of the 17th volume in Piranesi's Book.

Please let me know your thoughts and we can close this and note the decision.

I believe that this is what we had talked about previously.

Yes, I agree, with one change: use “volume” instead of “book”.

Would we need a field for the title of the work? Or are there unique numbers for the volumes for the different works?

I'm thinking specifically about the Roman Antiquities and Views of Rome. How does the naming distinguish? I was thinking something like piranesi_romanantiquities_1_002.jpeg for the 2nd page of the first volume of Roman Antiquities to avoid something like piranesi_1_002.jpeg referring to both Roman Antiquities and Views of Rome.

I do not think we need titles for the individual volumes. Volume and page number specifies each image.

You can look for inspiration at the ContentDM entries, where the title is just volume and page number: https://digital.tcl.sc.edu/digital/collection/piranesi/id/7880/rec/1

Okay, roger that. I am going to use the same volume numbers from ContentDM then, which makes this whole thing easier.
