This software runs on a dedicated Android phone or tablet. The software should run all the time as on the device only this software run to monitor the orders.
I had to force the software to be always awake with the most powerful wake locker and screen always on.
Not sure if my implementation was optimal. The problem is the app has to run all the time, if there will be not such high "always on" setting the screen goes dark and the job does not run.
Normally, the screen is always on as the restaurant owner check on the screen for new orders.
Battery life is not important.
