Random X9D issues that may or may not be already known... #195

I'm still on the move, but just had a litte try of the current status
(installing devtools on a pc, updating svn, building and flashing X9D while at
the back of a driving camping van is kinda fun)...
So here's what I've come across so far:

- Splash screen isn't displayed during init (eeprom load) anymore, that was good
- "Welcome to open9x" audio message is cut if splash is of or on but bypassed
- Editing in RETA12LR center beep setting is buggy - And it seems hysteresis
for center beeps is too small, if I manage to select A for example it will just
beep continuously
- On MODEL SELECTION page, PAGE key only works if on the page number. Also,
up/down navigation is reversed compared to other screens.
- SYMLIMITS and PPMCA missing on LIMITS page
- FLIGHT PHASE editing page not yet adapted to screen width
- Navigation on the TELEMETRY screen is broken (used to work except when in the
custom screen items)
- Probably valid for all audio-enabled radios: "Switch warning" audio message
probably shouldn't be played everytime a switch is changed until dismissed, but
only the first time
- All radios again, low battery audio message playing every couple of seconds
would really be overwhelming. Would be better to repeat only every 15 secs or so

Yes, it is, but it doesn't always start, I think it's the same problem that
Mike explained with the LCD init

- "Welcome to open9x" audio message is cut if splash is of or on but bypassed

Yes it is if there is an error (i.e. switch warning)

- Editing in RETA12LR center beep setting is buggy

Fixed

- On MODEL SELECTION page, PAGE key only works if on the page number

Not exactly, only if the model was selected. Anyhow it's not ok.

- Also, up/down navigation is reversed compared to other screens.

Are you sure? It works correctly here

- SYMLIMITS and PPMCA missing on LIMITS page

Did you enable the correspondant options?

Hmm for me it never displays before the end of the eeprom load. It however
never fails turning off after that.

- Yes it is if there is an error (i.e. switch warning)
Then it shouldn't, the welcome should finish playing before the warning message
is played! To me it's also cut if splash is off, warning or not. Basically, as
soon as another file is played OR the main screen is reached, the sound is cut.

- Fixed
Cool, working indeed!

Seems to be OK now indeed...

- Did you enable the correspondant options?
Forget that, I forgot the makefile names were different

Current status:

> Splash screen isn't displayed during init (eeprom load) anymore, that was good
Still not the case... the backlight turns ON regardless of eeprom setting as
soon as power is applied, but no splash. Once eeprom is loaded, eeprom settings
are used. I liked the "forced splash" during load...

Fixed, cool :)

> Navigation on the TELEMETRY screen is broken
OK in general, still screwed up in the Screen settings (DOWN key only changes
between left and right item, UP key goes up always on the left item)

A new one:
- When EEPROM error, turning the radio OFF is considered as pressing any key -
so the eeprom is formatted when you try to turn the radio off in order NOT to
format it.

- On CUSTOM FUNCTIONS the DOWN key only goes up to the first "empty" line. This
might be on purpose, but is annoying when you use the wrong key and wrap around
to the last line. You can't use DOWN to re-wrap around.

- In the custom functions switch selection, ENTER long doesn't add/remove the
momentary switch

I think we need 2 volume settings, one for the beeps and one for voice...
Voice pretty much needs to be always at full volume to be decently hearable,
but then beeps seem to be at a frequency that's pretty well transmitted by the
speaker and are deafening...

- Timer countdown sounds are missing for Timer2

Fixed!

Remaining:

format it.

New:
- On text edit fields (Model name, phase name etc) when you long press enter to
insert a lowercase letter, then the next char the cursor goes to gets
overwritten with that same letter
- The - sign on an overflowing timer disappears after 1 min, and blinking stops
