enhancement: Text colour of the battery level #2

With the new version (1.24) having option to display battery level all the time 
at the notification area, I have found that the text colour (white on green 
background) may seems hard to read.  I am wondering if you may consider using 
different text colour to make it slightly easier to read.

I've seen Battery Notifier 1.2.6 on HTC Desire. My screenshots are here 
http://goo.gl/F7cwS. If I am not mistaken, white text on green is standard 
colors on HTC, as for me it looks acceptable. In any case, I can't fix it, 
because Battery Notifier uses standard functionality to show number in status 
bar icon. One of the main goal is to be as lightweight as possible, so I don't 
want to add a lot of custom icons with numbers to application resources.

Do I correctly understand the issue?

yep I guess you understand my suggestion correctly.

Not being a developer, I really don't know that white text on green background 
is the standard color combination on HTC/android.  Please pardon me for that.

What I observe is that all text on my notification bar are either 
1. white text on black, or 
2. black text on white 
in normal situation.

The contrast of them are really good.  

I saw "white text on green" only when a notification being highlighted in the 
pull-down notification menu.

Do definitely agree it is great to keep this notifier lightweight (that's one 
of the main reason for me using this!).  Or is there a chance that the green 
color on the battery could be tweaked?  I can see that the battery green is 
different from the android battery green.  Just a suggestion.  I really don't 
know how good/bad it will look as I'm not a graphics designer unfortunately

At this time it is impossible to customize status bar icon in any way (and be

There are two another versions of Battery Notifier that provide customizable 
status bar icons:
