I just installed the GoofCord client and it is not based on a modification of the official discord client, then why put it in mods, even though it is based on ArmCord?

Ripcord doesn't actually require a payment to download. As per their website:

Ripcord is shareware. You can try it without paying, but if you use the Slack features, you'll eventually need to pay up.

Not sure what they mean by "eventually", but I've used it for Slack for months without paying. (Even if the Slack features were paid, I'm not sure as to whether that'd be relevant since this repository focuses solely on Discord, which is free either way.)
