Build fails on Debian 5.10.0

• Linux distribution and its version Debian Bullseye
• Linux kernel version 5.10.0
• Xorg version (if used)
• Desktop environment in use

During "Building initial module for 5.10.0-21-amd64 following error occurs:

Bad return status for module build on kernel:5.10.0-21-amd64 (x86_64)

post installation script returns error code 10

I mention that on /var/lib/dkms/evdi/1.9.0+dfsg the tree "build" is not existing

( initial problem I have, may contribute to the problem: after installing displaylink driver, section Display Link info states (all other sections look like expected):

Driver version: 1.12.0 1.9.0+dfsg DisplayLink service status: EVDI service version /sys/devices/evdi/version not found )

btw: v1.12.0 is showing the exact same symptom with empty service status and empty EVDI service version.

turned out that probably secure boot was not turned off :( sorry!
