This is a collection of 4 small cleanup commits:

Remove unused scripts -- no longer needed scripts
Remove outdated MediaWiki_PHPBB_Auth patch -- no longer needed patch
Remove lynx auto-detect -- lynx usage is long untested and wget/curl should be sufficient
Remove unused configuration variables -- not used in master, pgdp-production, or noncvs
