US Based, super familiar with the stack you have listed - I've used Linode, HostGator, Rackspace, TONS on AWS and a few others over the years.
I've hosted most of my projects on ubuntu, as well. Almost exclusively using nginx as the web server, though I also have experience with apache.
I work with Letsencrypt almost daily (helping people set up CAA records and _acme-challenge CNAMEs) and Namecheap is the registrar I use for all of my personal stuff (nothing significant up, but elongatedmuskrat.com is mine and hosted there)

I handle scaling, load balancing, ddos protection and geographical performance optimization and containerization. I have been running my own cryptocurrency mining pool for the past nine months and experienced multiple different attacks. Still standing so far.
