A list of bugs and feature requests concerning the Mull project #174

  1. The “Open Link In External Apps” option, that appears when you long tap on a link, has disappeared since version 116.2.0. It will definitely be better to have it back.

  2. Add an option in the bookmarks menu or settings for importing and exporting bookmarks.

  3. The little arrow that appears in the autocomplete next to every website, that's either saved in your bookmarks or browsing history, is not available unlike the Tor Mobile Browser.

  4. Mull browser refuses to load a website or a domain, in both the normal and the private mode, that's blocked in the Blokada app when using their local VPN. Even after disabling Blokada's local VPN, Mull will refuse to load that website or domain until Mull is restarted.

  5. The user experience will be great if the toolbar was set to be at the bottom by default.

  6. It is recommended to have an expandable search bar/toolbar that makes it easier to view, edit and share URLs, just like Yandex Mobile Browser's toolbar, instead of the current old and primitive-style toolbar.

  7. A translation service for translating texts on webpages is needed, if possible.

  8. Is “https://getpocket.com/fenix-top-articles” that's pinned on Mull's homepage and that participated in giving the Mozilla foundation its infamous reputation any necessary?

  9. uBlock Origin should definitely be enabled by default because it takes a significant amount of time to set it up due to Mozilla Store not being responsive at all times.

That's all for now. Thanks for considering the bugs and feature requests I sent to you.

Please search and read the known issues: https://divestos.org/pages/broken#mull

  1. it is still there: Settings > Open links in apps > Ask before opening
  2. Upstream issue: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/417
  3. Tor Browser uses an older version
  4. This is good

Mull has strict certificate pinning. If you are using a proxy or VPN that does HTTPS manipulation you'll encounter a "Secure Connection Failed" error. Navigate to about:config and change security.cert_pinning.enforcement_level from 2 to 1, this is however a security and privacy risk.

  5. Upstream issue
  6. Upstream issue
  7. It is just a default bookmark, remove it if you want
  8. https://github.com/Divested-Mobile/Mull-Fenix/issues/161

  1. Would you rather be more open, please? I have literally tried doing as you mentioned but without benefit Screenshot_2023-10-20-22-19-31-76_50ecd26a21c2c56ce608de5e94733463 Screenshot_2023-10-20-22-16-47-93_50ecd26a21c2c56ce608de5e94733463

  2. I'd like to have a more direct answer followed by links detailing the topic rather than links only.

  3. You still didn't give the needed reply.

  4. You just skipped that one

6 & 7. What is meant by "Upstream issue"?

  1. As a privacy-concerned user, I had rather have this default bookmark removed by the project's developers or maintainers.

  1. if you want to open a regular link in another browser, use the share button
  2. I am not obligated to give you an answer. Adding features to Mull is out of scope, making such a request an upstream issue for Mozilla to address which is what I linked.
  3. The search was entirely overhauled back in 116, Tor Browser doesn't feature such overhaul, hence the difference.
  4. I very much did, please read again.

6 & 7 For Mozilla to fix

8 There is absolutely zero harm from a preloaded bookmark. If you want to put in the work every update to maintain the code that removes them, you are welcome to contribute your time or financially.

1, 2, 3 & 4 Alright, I understand.

  1. Well, I wanted to say that you skipped issue number “5” (The user experience will be great if the toolbar was set to be at the bottom by default).

6 & 7 Okay.

  1. I wish I had the knowledge, time and finance to be qualified to do that, but I can't at the moment.
