I will probably implement this once JetBrains has integrated their LESS support

I believe it is already integrated.
Less plugin is already installed when you download the IDE. Just like PHP and
CSS Plugin

AFAIK the LESS plugin is only included in EAP versions. Time will tell...

Started on Less support in 1.23. Only nested rules for now. Try it out!
Needs IDE with Less upport.

what do you mean? does css-x-fire work with other IDE besides IntelliJ PhpStorm
?

I use css-x-fire under intellij idea ultimate...

@aristidesfl: Yes it works with IntelliJ IDEA (Ultimate), RubyMine,
PhpStorm/WebStorm, PyCharm, AppCode.
CSS, Less and Sass are all plugins bundled by JetBrains. They may be of
different versions for each IDE release.
I have tested with PhpStorm 3.0 (EAP 110.293).
