This has been considered in the past, albeit no final verdict has been made. An N163 importing tool that supports 5B as well also exists, unfortunately it's become increasingly harder to find that program. Personally I think an updated/maintained fork independent of Dn's main branch made specifically for NSF importing would be the best way to approach this.
Ah, I see.
I think I found the original post of that program here, but haven't seen it anywhere else. I recall finding some version of a program like this, but I couldn't get that version to work at all. Now, I'm not even sure where I found it in the first place.
Do you know where a working version of an N163 importer is?
P.S. I was able to find this DAW that supports N163 importing, but while it works, it is still less than ideal
I contacted Brad via Gmail today about the situation. I told him about the new version of this FamiTracker and I'm waiting for his response.
nsfimport_v0.5.zip Brad sent me a link to where the source is used to build NSF Importer, but that's about it; he recommends that we work on it for DN-Famitracker. https://web.archive.org/web/20120208012330/http://famitracker.com/downloads.php
Sylveon might long be gone now.
This is something that has already been explored in the past but hasn't been updated in a while. The only program I could get to work that imports NSFs into Famitracker is this program by rainwarrior. However, this version runs off of Famitracker 0.3.7, so it doesn't support expansion chips N163 or 5B.
Is this something that would be possible, or would it be outside the scope of Dn-Famitracker?
