Need to control speed, amount of paint and possibly distance from the board. Start with one colour, but possible to mix.

I saw this and thought of this, what's the difference between an airbrush and a mist attachment on a hose? one of them has air in, and finer particles probably, so this isn't exactly the same but this could be useful of you were ever to do a really huge , side of a building type painting, if it shoots 4m it should mist a reasonable distance to get the paint to the wall , and for multi colour, you could just bolt a few of them together.
