List the consumables we actually need people to source #21

Open ajlennon opened 4 years ago

ajlennon commented 4 years ago

This issue is just for what we actually need to source. For discussions on what we may need to source please go to #7, #15

Items we have sufficient stocks of (enough for >20000 visors) ~are crossed out like this~

Q. Where are the best places to get this stuff?

Eye protectors / Visors

3D printing

Laser Cutting

Foam Visors

Useful equipment includes;

Cleaning Materials

Packing Materials

amcewen commented 4 years ago

@tamhamilton decent idea, although I think latex is a substance the hospitals avoid. The design we're doing most is the laser-cut one which now (and you've reminded me I need to update the summary of this issue, ta! :-) doesn't require any elastic.

I've got 60 more sheets of 0.8mm polyprop being sent out to us today. Chasing down further polyprop and PET suppliers for visors - there should be 20 sheets of something polyprop-like (they haven't told us exactly what it is...) en route today too.

AndyShilladay commented 4 years ago

Hi all - is elegoo mars resin a viable print material? I've had an email asking

Short answer - no - no resin.

I've just ordered 2000 sheets of 1050x750x0.5mm polyprop through Try and Lilly up the road. Don't have an exact ETA yet, as the supplier is running on reduced staff due to covid.

Aha! found it! Mind if I merge the stocklist googlesheet this supplier sheet @ajlennon? So that we have suppliers & orders in one place. I'll leave a link in other spreadsheet to this

Go for it @DuncN !

amcewen commented 4 years ago

I don't have access to the supplier spreadsheet (if that's where we're tracking deliveries) but Dave Connor just dropped off 3000 A3 140 micron clear plastic sheets, which will give us enough for 6000 visors.

ajlennon commented 4 years ago

@amcewen request access - I'm not sure why it started doing this but as we have orders on there too (which need to be split out seperately) I've not made it open access.

amcewen commented 4 years ago

I've updated the description to add some details on packing materials that we should get for better deliveries. (I've also crossed out the things we've got lots of, to try to make things a bit clearer).

@plastictactics, @JackiePease says you've got a heat sealing machine - would that let us do a better job than ziplock bags?

ASC Direct don't have particularly good box options, but do have some plastic bags that might work?

If someone can find a few prices/options, then we can make a choice and get some ordered.

plastictactics commented 4 years ago

Feel free to break out the sealing machine in our box at DoES and try it. If you can replace the iron at the same time that would be good, I got worried it had gone AWOL but saw it out in weds :)

We need more IPA. We are running out. Irene has brought some on her own, though I thought I'd note it here.

amcewen commented 4 years ago

I've ordered 30x J/6W padded envelopes for our smaller orders (<100 visors) and 30 430mm x 355mm x 145mm cardboard boxes which should hold anything up to ~500 visors.

They should be arriving on Monday
