Placeholder for details on the laser-cutting resources available external to DoES

If you can offer laser cutting capability please add your details here and join this Slack channel - https://covid-19volunteersuk.slack.com/archives/C010XUTN3MY

Contact me @ajlennon if you need an invite to that Slack space.

On top of the DoES capability there's:

Then beyond people who've already offered, we could ask:

There'll probably be more in the dataset we created for the Indie Manufacturing project

Peter Kent Baldwin emailed me about these guys - if somebody can contact them?

Ref Laser cutting we have used a Company near our head office in the past to fabricate parts from sheet materials for us.

The name of the Company is 5750 and the point of contact I last had there is:

Via Chris Brown

I have a Gravograph LS100Ex later cutter. I use it with Techsoft 2D Design, they’re probably not familiar with that programme and I’m not sure how compatible it is with other programmes but I could easily rip off a design if provided with one.

My school add is C/o James Brown Elms Bank Ripon Avenue Whitefield Manchester, M55 8PJ

We have just set up a 40W LaserPro Mercury II with 640mm x 460mm bed size, in our city center workshop about ten minutes cycle from DoES.

Will test it out today using scraps of the 0.8mm PP sheet, and figure out how to resource it to start some production tomorrow.

Bravo @plastictactics !

waves from Manchester

610mm x 456mm 50w epilog over here, 3D printing an adapted Prusa design to fit 0.5mm x 235mm x 235mm sheets (lugs moved inwards) but it's way too slow a process. Only have 1mm PETG sheets amd 3mm acrylic in the workshop now.

Pleased to confirm that our laser cutter passed its tests and we are ready for production once it can be fed with material.
