Following the fire alarm going off last week it occurred to me that we might want to have the detector in the CNC room set to fire only, not smoke. Having discussed it in the space it sounds like we should change the detector to just detect heat and install a localised smoke detector.

On discussion there's other things that need doing:

[x] Soundproof room - visible alarm, sounder and detector
[x] Laser room - currently just detecting heat, should be a sounder too
[ ] CNC room - currently detecting smoke, this should just be heat and we need a visible alarm and sounder in here

We should also look at additional Sounders being placed in these rooms (possibly with flashing lights) as when the alarm went off on Thursday, the sounder could not be heard in the laser or CNC room due to the noise of the machines.

I spoke to Mick just now and he confirmed that the device in the CNC room isn't a sounder. He's going to come and fit the one in the soundproof room on Tuesday and we'll discuss with him about others. I'll update the description above to cover what we I think we need.

It might also be worth looking at making some of these sensors rate of heat rise rather than smoke detectors, given the use of these rooms.

@magman2112 that's already the case in the laser room and we're intending to do the same in the CNC room.

Having discussed with Mick today we agreed that as smoke in the CNC room should not be a "usual" occurrence we will leave it as smoke detecting for now. We can review this in the future as it's a flick of a switch to change this.

He's now fitted the optical and audible alarm into the Findout room, and fitted a sounder in the laser room. He'll need to order another optical alarm for the CNC room so that will come in a short while.

Did we ever get this optical alarm? Is this issue closable?
