Last one out the hackspace button #825

The main issue is remembering to lower the shutter on the burglar ladder, I beg your pardon, fire escape. (This shutter should be connected to the doorbot so that it goes up as soon as the first person comes into the room in the morning.)

There's also windows to close, machines to switch off, bins to take out, and lights to switch off.

To begin with, the button could just shine a light on a paper list of things to do. But later it could have sensors on the windows and shutter so that it doesn't let you out the door until they have been secured. Either that, or the button could use a keyfob, so we know who to blame.

At @revspace and many other dutch hackspaces there's a "Hackspace is Open/Closed" state which gets pushed out onto their website as an EventSource notification so that there's a sign on their image on their website: https://revspace.nl/Main_Page

There's a big lever in the hackspace that is the final turn everything on or off and plays a clip of music like the original Windows chime.

We do have two extra wires on the connecting the doorbots to the black boxes and could use them for speakers. Also we could put in a little I2C controlled LED panel into the blackbox (to run on same I2C circuit as the RFID) to add some friendly coloured lighting from our horroble black box.

Can we do something about this, or are we happy with the current state of affairs?

Think we can close this as we can’t rewire the space now.

I was looking at getting one of these bigger switches: https://www.toolstation.com/click-mode-10a-wide-rocker-switch/p20743 Or one of these light up buttons: https://www.toolstation.com/mk-grid-plus-indicator-module/p21074

Then there would be some way to make it issue an MQTT command that would switch off the coffee, xmas tree, switch on the rock tumbler -- and then play an audible salutation and reminder from a scavenged museum in a box voice amp for you to do the shutters, heating, and lights.

ChrisT and I have the idea of using a car hand-brake bolted to the wall which you yank on your way out, which turns all the sonoff power switches off.

Russ says he can get one from the scrappie this weekend.
