cray crafting #3

Hello, is there any mods this mod doesn't like, I have a built my modpack, and it plays nice at the start. Once you finished and close for the day, come back the next day and boot the world it gets stuck on loading screen and I have to kill minecraft manually, any help would be great. I believe it is a forge problem, i updated forge to the latest for 1.7.10, It took a while but I did manage to get back into my world. The reason i thought it was a cray crafting problem is because when i took the mod out it booted no problem. Thought I would let you know.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Really have no idea whats wrong unless you include the log. When reporting issues to any dev you should include logs. It lets us help you quicker.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

I may have found the issue. Send the info over to Dries and it should be looked into ASAP.

This should be fixed by 11d927d2ede77d7b56ffd8c3cf62d8afe55873f9

ghost commented 9 years ago

Downloaded the latest update and still having the same issue, what logs is it you want. Sorry new this used to posting crash reports. Was going to upload the fml latest but it was too long to upload.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

FML latest will have the info. Just CTRL+F and search for Craycrafting.

hope that helps

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Try making a new world and repeat whatever you did to make it break. Just trying to single out that the error that's in the log is the issue or not.

ghost commented 9 years ago

will do, but as you could tell by the times on the report it is late for me, i will do it tomorrow, if that is alright

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Thats fine. As long as we can get it fixed for ya everything is good!

From a new world

dries007 commented 9 years ago

There is no crashlog in there, does it still crash?

ghost commented 9 years ago

no it doesn't crash, I have to kill minecraft

dries007 commented 9 years ago

Explain what happens please, I don't get what is going wrong. Why would you need to kill mc if it doesn't crash?

ghost commented 9 years ago

the game just freezes when reloading a world, On a world startup everything is fine, but after finishing and you save and quit, come back to the game and click load world, the game hangs, but if i take out cray crafting it boots straight up. I think there is a mod conflict between cray crafting and some other mod, that is just speculation.

dries007 commented 9 years ago

yes, it is probably a conflict. Can you post the full log after you load a word that hangs?

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

I don't see any issues as it's trying to apply the recipe changes and nothing is throwing an error. Perhaps it's just how many recipes are being changed? Other than that I have no idea.

ghost commented 9 years ago

Ok, well thanks for trying to help solve this issue. Love this mod, keep up the good work

ghost commented 9 years ago

I have been trying to reduce the number of recipes, it doesn't matter how many mods i take out, it always says it is crafting the same amount of shaped recipes.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Can you post a mod list? I can test some things if you can do that.

ghost commented 9 years ago

can i send you a link to download the instance (multi MC), i will do via twitter if you want, i can also include the save i am having problems with.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

If you make a new world does it still have the same issues?

IIRC the recipes are only set once at world creation so if you remove mods the recipes will still be there regardless.

ghost commented 9 years ago

i have it set to change every 2mins, the world boot fine, but once you save and go back in i have to kill minecraft

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Well. That might be the issue right there.

ghost commented 9 years ago

Should I higher the time limit or switch it off

ghost commented 9 years ago

ghost commented 9 years ago

Can i say, I would HIGHLY recommend you guys. You seem to want to help in anyway possible and really friendly. Keep up the good work.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

The timed option likely doesn't work properly. Thus why its not working on the next load.

Try making a new world and see if you can replicate it. Also try disabling it and loading up the problem world. That will point it out.

ghost commented 9 years ago

will do.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Its not your fault our mods don't work! Why would i have any reason to ignore it? I deal with shitty support and ignorant devs/people constantly. I don't want our users to feel the same.

ghost commented 9 years ago

i set the time to 0, and have had 2 crashes in a new world, old world won't boot still

ghost commented 9 years ago

I just thought it had to be said you guys are awesome.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Give that a try you can find the new build here http://jenkins.dries007.net/job/CrayCrafting/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/build/libs/CrayCrafting-1.7.10-1.3.0.20.jar

ghost commented 9 years ago

That has helped a lot, i was still having the issue, but found a temp fix, if i delete the cray crafting dat file in the save world, i can get in the world no problem, Hope this info helps.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Still no idea why thats happening is it still not letting you load back into it after you reload the game?

ghost commented 9 years ago

that is correct, as i say a temp fix is to delete the dat file, I have put it back on 2 min change, so I am wondering whether it is filling the dat file and not emptying properly, this is only speculation as i am not a mod dev. I do apologise for being a pain, I just don't want it to go on the AT Launcher and you get bogged down with the same issues.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

This doesn't make any sense to me... Its gone beyond my knowledge I honestly can't think of anything at all.

Hey speculation is 80% of what i do. Im just as much of a dev as you are (I don't code anything). I deal with everything else from bugs to testing new mod ideas. I just have a higher understanding of mechanics and how things work compared to most players because i have been doing this for so long. I started with servers back in Beta 1.2! "Dev" work in 1.2.5.

You're not the pain this bug is the pain.... I also understand why you don't want this to go out i've been there done that and still dealing with it.

I think i need to see if i can reproduce this some how... I got a few things i need to do first though. I will add it to the list of ToDo that never shrinks :P

ghost commented 9 years ago

no problem, I do believe it does have something to do with the dat file, as the size of the file just gets bigger the more you play. As I have mentioned before I am willing to send you a Multi MC instance for the pack I am using/making via a private dm on twitter, if you so wish.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Yeah shoot me an instance of that. throw in the bugged world too.

ghost commented 9 years ago

its not a bugged world, it is any world after a certain amount of time, I have not got the timings down so I can't specify the time.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Ahh.. My bad. Forgetting what the whole bug was..

Just to recap on this huge issue.... Its a time based problem as where minecraft will lock up and becomes unplayable. If you force close the game the world will not reload. Deleting the data file clears the issue up until that time threshold is met again.

Sound right?

ghost commented 9 years ago

sounds right, once minecraft uses up the memory and you have to restart the game to flush the memory. (I am still trying to locate the memory leak)

ghost commented 9 years ago

What I "think" happens is that when cray changes the recipes it writes it to dat, then after 2 mins, it changes again and rather than overwriting it adds until minecraft says stop there is too many recipes. As I say this only what I think, I am just trying to help narrow down the bug.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

[14:07:55] [Client thread/FATAL] [ProjectE]: Error in NBT whitelist file: no item stack found for Botania:specialFlower [14:07:55] [Client thread/FATAL] [ProjectE]: At line: 7 This might be an issue you did not notice.

Also i recommend disabling the EMC Exploit checking as its pointless to have it logged with craycrafting. You can do this at ProjectE>Mapping.cfg>Line 29

Theres also another issue with craycrafting that hopefully was fixed. (seems to be) Other than that i can't replicate it thus far and have yet to see the data file go above 70,000KB I did manage to crash the game with a OutofMemoryError but can't figure out where from....

So i have tried everything spent hours on this and i can think of to try and reproduce it. I think i found everything but the issue i wanted -.- Try the latest update and if that doesn't fix it i feel that it's going to be unfixable because its untrackable.

ghost commented 9 years ago

Thank you so much for your help and time trying to fix this issue.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Well i just hope that this random patch fixes it because i don't want you to be like "welp so much for that" Hope you can figure out something for your pack! It makes me mad that i can't find it!! :/

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Oh here's the latest file incase its not synced up on curse yet http://jenkins.dries007.net/job/CrayCrafting/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/build/libs/CrayCrafting-1.7.10-1.3.0.21.jar

ghost commented 9 years ago

I would not be like that, I know you have spent a lot of time and patience trying to solve the issue.

Claycorp commented 9 years ago

Well if you have any other issues feel free to throw em on a new issue or if you dig up any dirt on this one let us know!

Thanks for understanding :)
