Scrum update Aug 06

Alex: I have been working on implementing voting logic and debugging to make sure that appropriate changes are made in the back and front. I tried to implement live voting update using pusher but did not complete that in time and settled for functioning logic without live updates (need to refresh). I also worked on the power point for the presentation and helped debug and populate the site with examples for the demo.

For the future, I will work on pusher for live updates and also implementing a visual cue so that users can see which ones they have voted on (back end already stores all of the objects which each user wows in the db). Need to draw it appropriately in react.

Kelly:

Worked on:

• getting the dominant colour of an image and storing it in MongoDB(this required a major makeover of our client-server posting logic)
• dynamically styling the opaque overlay with the dominant colour so each highlight has its own "theme colour"
• integrating the styling of the app as well as improving responsiveness (hiding or abbreviate elements on mobile sized window)

For the future:

• categorize highlights into different communities according to their theme (possibly add tags to the highlight)
• install color-thief for app deployed on Heroku so dominant colour analysis can be done on each newly uploaded photos
