Global Menu display cryptic text instead of Gwibber throbber #522

Global menu print a wierd string of text after the menus if an application is
trying to display a widget.
The example I found this on was Gwibber. I know that Global Menu isn't suppose
to display widgets.
However, if it's going to fail, it should do so quietly. So Global Menu
shouldn't display a funky string
of text, just nothing.

The following are some screenshots of the problem:

This was originally reported against Gwibber on launchpad. There was also
another problem at the
time but that has since been fixed. See: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome2-
globalmenu/+bug/337368

It doesn't make sense to show some debugging string for unsupported widgets.

You are right. Shall we show something like 'unsupported menu item'

or simply hide the unsupported items?

It should be hidden. The application isn't broken because of this problem, it
is just that it doesn't expect global
menu. Application devs wont be fixing this problem, I have talked to the
Gwibber developers and they don't want
to fix this for the sake of only global menu. Someware in some debugging info
it should be said that the item is
unsupported but not on the menu bar. It makes a lot more sense to me for it to
be hidden.
