pokemon stadium - stage texture error #235

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. go to giovanni castle
2. choose a team and start the battle
3. (just look carefully the walls of the castle)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
a weird line of separation between a decorated strip with the wall that comes
under there is a space that should not be there where you can see the "sky"
outside the castle. and sometimes other textures are around there and is creepy
it looks like people peeping at your pokemon trough the thin buggy line lol.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
myglide64 r217 on 1964mod on windows xp professional sp3 x86

Please provide any additional information below.
leaving an screenshot where you can see clearly the line. its a sky blue line
that should not be there.
(its behind mew at the height of his hands. are 2 stripes. one below the window
where it should go over the wall texture and over the window where the ceiling
texture starts. the one near the wall that goes up to the ceiling its more thin
than the one below the window that connects to the lower part of the wall)

don't you know this is a glide64 forum not myglide64?
This will be my last comment for all your problem reports.
Good luck on reporting a myglide64 problem in a glide64 forum.

well i dont understand the difference between glide64 and myglide64. i think
was just a name of a small modified version.
you dont have to be rude i have done this reports since i dont know anywhere to
go to.
plus this issues are present on glide64 at least the version r214.
if you like me to test if this issue is present on the latest glide64 then give
me a compilated version since the only place it gives away the compiled version
its emucr and since r215 any emulator will not recognize the .dll file.

well if no one its going to pay me any attention because i use myglide64
instead of glide64 then you can just delete the issues i started and thats it.

The steps to reproduce the problem are to complex for me :)

just as an update by some weird reason now i can see the glide64 latest build
on the emulator.
some update i installed on windows xp make the emulator able to load the .dll
has the same issues as myglide64 (since its the same, compiled by another
person that decided to name it like that)

Emulator just hangs when I load the save. Which rom version you use?

i use the U (usa) version, the kiosk (pokemon nap station) version. the one
with the extra option of gallery to take pictures to the pokemons etc.
if the save state does not work just put the save game (the .fla file)
apparently works in all versions at least the usa ones. then go to the giovanni
castle choose 6 random pokemons and thats it. just watch carefully the wall of
the gym. btw on other gym castles happens. i have not tried them all. but when
a decoration goes right next to a wall texture that separation occurs. not sure
if on stadium 2 on the kanto gyms (are the same stages as in stadium) the same
occurs. later i will test it out.

.fla works. I see the same horizontal line with other plugins. Probably it's
artifact of hi-res hardware rendering. I accept this issue with low priority.

may i ask, even that its not related, but why this plug in when i select dump
textures does not dump the pokemon stadium - pokemon stadium 2 main screen or
backrounds that look as a solid image? (that apparently its not armed ingame
from several textures as for example a 3D model) could you tell me if this will
be possible someday or it just cannot happen???
i am asking since i would like to get the raw start screens and then enhace
them without the pixelation all the video plug ins causes when strething them
since even on the nintendo 64 was low quality lol. sorry i ask here but i dont
want to open a new issue for this that may or may not be a new issue.

Such questions must be asked on the forum:
http://www.emuxhaven.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?16-Glide64
I'll answer you there, but if you need further explanations, open new topic on
the forum.
Pokemon Stadium backgrounds, while look like a solid image, actually consist of
two hundreds 16x16 tiles. It's because of jpeg compression and its
implementation on N64. GlideHQ dumps them all, but if you want to create hi-res
background, you fist have to combine complete picture from that pieces (a kind
of puzzle), create new hires background and then split it to the same number of
tiles giving each of them the proper name. Hellot of work.

ow. tyvm. but i didnt not wanted to make a new start screen on HD. just wanted
to extract it strecth it big and make it HD the original one as a solid image.
well i guess i will stick with the ones i did for "boxart".
