New site design is so broken that listing all its bugs is impossible #35

The new “design” that was rolled out on March 19 2020, is broken in too many ways for me to keep track of all the issues here, therefore I quit. Most likely I'll stop using the site altogether.

You can find a list of issues I have posted somewhere in the Thingiverse discussion group. Here is a link to the thread, you'll need it because the site is even more impossible to navigate than it ever was.

I will say that while they didn't change the design back, the responsiveness has improved dramatically since the original rollout. When they first changed it, I couldn't load more than one page every few minutes. It is actually loading quickly now.

So, what are the alternatives? I've tried cults3D, but its 3d preview is just unusable. also, too many clicks to download anything. Had a look at myminifactory, but in model railroading category it contains almost nothing.

I wish I knew of a capable alternative. I'm using PrusaPrinters a bit at the moment.

I think I have too much of a hangover of depending on the goodwill of others, so I am slowly moving my designs to GitHub, with an overview page on my own website. Maybe I'll add some system to submit makes, because IMHO seeing one's 3D model being materialized by others is one of the most rewarding parts of this hobby.
