One thing to keep in mind when you upload data to a shared owncloud: Everything is distributed to all subscribed people. In the most recent case you just dumped 500MB onto my harddisk. For some of us that causes problems. So maybe send a warning...

firasm commented 9 years ago

heh... right. Sorry!

Guess we need some rules on that. For me it was just a move so disk-usage neutral

This should be the only/last time anyone uploads anything to the root of sarlab's ownCloud. From now on, things will go into sdata or hdata or PV or manuscripts

I've created a directory called PV and once you uncheck PV, I will put pv-man in it, and once you approve, i'll move pv-system in it on prefer.

No worries. 500MB is tolerable but I just say that so you don't do anything funny with all of brukerdata or similar.

This should be the only/last time anyone uploads anything to the root of sarlab's ownCloud Not sure since I think this is true. I believe we should consider sharing a few resources like that. So there might be more. Also, even if you don't upload under the root but any directory that I happen to not have on my ignore list, I will download it.

What just happened to pvman? I now have an empty PV folder?

firasm commented 9 years ago

I deleted it, it was only half done uploading and brought my internet at home down to a crawl.

I then realized that pv-man already exists in pfeifer, on my dropbox folder so I could just move it and spare myself the remaining 500MB upload.

Okay, so uncheck PV on ownCloud and then i'll do the move operation

FYI, I have installed a new SSL certificate on owncloud.sarlab.ca and as long as your device is OK with Comodo as a certification authority it should be fine and not throw these scary warnings in the future.
