[Feedback] Crafting #335

Crafting is the way to get the best items in the game. When I mean the best item in the game, they are kind of broken compared to the stuff we can find. The journey to create those broken items is quite a headache though... First you need to level up your crafter, which is not an easy task (unless you do gathering then respec with amnesia gas), then you need to find blueprints (which have a very very low drop rate) and it needs to be good... there's a lot of underpowered items in the game currently. Then, you need to find the resources needed to craft the item. Finally, balancing the items and the stones of power... I won't lie, this is pretty catastrophic at the moment. I will go over each of those steps as there every step could be improved.

1- Levelling your crafter Currently, it is impossible to have a character that is only a crafter. There is just simply no way that you'll be able to craft anything good in your lifetime trying to level from crafting items. You can level using the forge, but the higher tier materials do not give more experience so you're stuck gathering iron ore and forge it into iron bars to be able to get any decent experience. There is always the option to level by crafting, but it will be quite costly once we don't have free DCAR,

-There needs to be more way to gain experience as a crafter... chopping wood, turning cotton into cloth, upgrading gear, repairing gear, etc.

2- Finding blueprints Before the item drop nerf, it was hard to find blueprints, now I don't even think about the possibility to find a good one because they drop so rarely and when they drop, it's most likely a blueprint that'll sit in the stash forever because the item is just not worth the money to craft.

-Have the possibility to dismantle an item into a blueprint. Cost DCAR, requires higher crafting skill than it takes to craft the item and has a chance to fail and destroy the item at the same time. -Reroll 3 blueprint of a certain rarity into a new random one. Cost DCAR, requires higher crafting skill than it takes to craft the item. -Have a low % chance to drop a blueprint instead of having them in the item pool. There would be 4 item drop possible. Resources, item, blueprint and potion.

3- Gathering the resources I have multiple character in the high 30's and I still don't have enough resources to craft a single mythical / fabled item with the high tier resources (darkwood, illydium, ancient yew) and getting the dust required is hard enough so I don't want to waste it on a sub-optimal item because it's going to take me ages to be able to gather enough of it again... and that it with free DCAU to rest at the inn. The number of resources your get from higher tier resources goes down compared to the low tier resources, but the number of resources it takes to craft higher rarity items keeps getting higher with rarity.

-Balance crafting resource requirement with gathering

4- Balance & Stones of power Right now stones of power are all the same. Either they give +magic +elemental boost or +attack + crit %... What about stones that give health, speed, attack, gathering, crafting and luck? The stones need to give different bonuses so you're able to craft the exact piece of equipment you want for your character. Right now I find myself just throwing any stones if I want magic or gemstone of precision for attack pretty boring if you ask me. Also, forget about scaling bonuses because you cannot balance the game like that, items will be wayyyyy too good compared to dropped items. The additional stones of power system depending on your crafting level above the required level need to be worked on as well.... A shoddy blueprint with stones of power shouldn't be better than a fabled superior item that you drop. I think scaling down the stones (purity level?) depending on item rarity and no % scaling will do the trick.

If I have more, I'll add in comments, but this is just off the top of my head.

If anyone has other suggestions, please comment!

Thanks for the feedback - a lot of these I've been thinking on as well so I'm glad it's not just me :) I'll keep thinking over it with the team and we'll figure something out
