Along with my #955 idea, I think it would best if we had a text field to add notes.

Etymologies already have notes. What I mean is the etymology displaying on the Etymology Tree; the label saying "calque" for #955 would also appear, maybe on the branch / line thingy rather than on the word, since calques usually consist of two or more words.
I meant separate to foreign etymologies. Like at the bottom of the tree, you can write in whatever.

Ah, I understand. That would be a pretty neat feature.
Update: I double-checked the Etymology Tree, and indeed the Etymological Notes are separate. It just so happens that they are placed next to External Etymologies.

Heyo, just to leave an update here: This modification is probably going to be a while out, as the etymology system was built with the presumption that foreign word etymologies would be handled either in different PolyGlot language files, or that they would be referencing real words, which have etymologies external to the conlang.
For the moment, I would suggest adding additional etymology and root information to the notes field.
Hello there,
This is an issue of the lowest priority, but it would be a neat feature to have foreign etymologies be able to have their own etymology.
Let's say Foreign Language FL has two words, aba and abba, which both come from ab. Let's say the Polyglot Language PL derives ada from aba and abha from abba. It would be neat to see this relationship.
This isn't needed that much, but it would be a very cool addition if it were implemented.
Keep up the great work!
