Or maybe it could be 2.99 because I'm not planning on having a version 2.9 so I could use 2.99 as the version number.
This will be in preparation for future versions. Right now I'm not planning on implementing anything into version 3.0 that relies on newer versions of Windows/.Net.
I'm going to make the 2.x-with-some-3.0-features version numbered Version 2.30. I think that makes it look like it's version 2.x but it's obviously such a big jump that it's got to be a mini version of a new version.
See #44. I'm going to make the backport version version 2.8.1 because the only big feature it would have is a testing button.
I think I have enough data from the poll I made recently to make my decision to make a version that has some of version 3.0's bug fixes/improvements but for .Net 4.0. I might not support Vista with 3.0, either, mainly because very few people use Vista anymore. Basically, it'll be a version of the 2.x series, maybe like a 2.9.3_0 (or 2.9.30, or 2.9_3, or 2.9-3, or 2.10, or maybe even 3.0-DotNet4) version of the app launcher.
