Figure out where Office 2013 and up stores its files and support Office 2013 and up in version 3.0 of the app launcher. #50

The way it'll support that is by having an option in the Options window which allows the user to choose their version of Office they installed. For software not available in the selected version, a messagebox will appear when attempting to launch that app from the button. The messagebox tells the user that the software they're trying to launch is not available in the Office version chosen in the Options window.

The messagebox asks the user if they want to go directly to the Options window to change their selected version.

Found a web page with info:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2016-office_install/installed-office-2016-on-windows-10-shortcuts-not/5704bfa8-0e2a-43f8-a1ee-d8b52c5d64c2

Important stuff on that page:

"Windows 32bit: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Office 15 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClentX86\Root\Office15. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Root\Office15

Windows 64bit: C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\Office 15 C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\ClentX86 or ClientX64\Root\Office15. C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\Root\Office15"

These are the locations of Office 2016 software.

Another piece of info from the same Microsoft Answers page as above:

"Hi,

could you try the following?

More info for Office 365/2016/2013:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_365hp-excel/office-365-installed-where-is-excelexe-location-on/c75dce2d-9f33-4cba-8741-aae6c0d8e8fb

Important info:

"Melia,

If you're running 365 and trying to point other programs like VB to excel (or any other Office programs) and you're running the latest version (2016), the actual application files all live in this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16

Hope that helps, cheers."

Screenshot showing the root folder for 365 [not my image]:

"If you can open and use it from your run box, I doubt you missed anything during the install. Are any other Office programs absent from that folder? They're all WAY down the list in the mess of .dll files, but that's where all the .exe files should be. Sorry to ask a dumb question, but are you looking in Office/root/Office16, and not Office/Office16? I did goof once and install a bunch of application files in the wrong place, but with 365 I don't think it would even let you misdirect the .exes. Here's where mine are hiding:"

Below is a screenshot that I, Drew Naylor, took of the Microsoft Answers page. It might be useful.

Stuff on Microsoft Support site:

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Command-line-switches-for-Outlook-for-Windows-079164CD-4EF5-4178-B235-441737DEB3A6

Important info:

"First, verify the location of the outlook.exe file on your computer. If you accepted the default folder locations when you installed Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016, the outlook.exe file is located at the following:

For Outlook 2013: c:\program files\microsoft office\office15. If you installed Outlook 2013 32-bit on Windows 64-bit, look here: c:\program files (x86)\microsoft office\office15\outlook.exe

For Outlook 2016: c:\program files\microsoft office\office16."

Location for Excel 2013 according to a Microsoft Support site:

"Make a switch available for reuse by creating a shortcut

First, verify the location of the Excel.exe file on your computer. If you accepted the default folder locations when you installed Excel 2013, the Excel.exe file is probably located at:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Excel.exe"
