Feature request: Collapsible tab groups #394

Much the same as with #37, after a lot of tab groups (each with a lot of tabs), managing them becomes a pain. There's a lot of scrolling and such to move tabs between groups.

Allowing a group to be "folded" or collapsed into a bar to get it out of the way would be nice. That would make it easier to move tabs from say Group 1 to Group 20 (normally involving a page or more of scrolling) by collapsing other groups that are in the way.

For clarification, I'm talking about collapsing the groups themselves, not the tabs.

This would indeed be a nice feature. I have frequently seen myself in the situation described by the orginal poster. For example, I have a group called Emacs, the tabs there are usually dealing with more then one Emacs related topic, say, four topics each with spanning five tabs. It would be nice not having a way to reduce the number of tabs displayed on the tab bar and not have to create a new group for each of those Emacs subtopics.
