i'm at least strongly against a default setting for hiding old apps because old != outdated
!
e.g. i and quite some users i know, still use a 10 years old app called MyAppList, which is genius, has no vulnerabilities and still works like a charm as soon as you passed all artificial warnings and restrictions like this bonkers --bypass-low-target-sdk-block
.
for sure, it could use a little polish/update but until someone shows me a FOSS app which can save a list of chosen apps or automatically of all, every time you (un-)install an app, as XML/JSON, HTML and TXT file. and use this files to install a chosen subset or all of them from whatever store (Google Play, Aurora Store, F-Droid, Droid-ify etc.) you want in one go... i still continue to use this unbelievably old but good app.
Okey, let user to filter apps by date, and you shoukd understand by yourself that most of unmaintained apps were abandoned and most of them also does not work correctly. your example is unusual. so FR is still actual
in search and on main page there are oudated applications from 2014, 2017. they usually do not work and just stoling user attention and time. i would prefer to keep out from abandoned staff, it usually useless and does not work properly, or even just do not start.
