This would allow the user to alias or make a friendly name for a favorited directory.

For instance, under my X:\GIS\OpenDroneMap\, I would likely favorite my "Projects" folder.

However, that isn't descriptive, and a full-path name would likely be cumbersome to read in the tree panel.

Enter an alias!

Why not name your folder ODM Projects?

No spaces in paths to data, haha.

It was more or less an example of a situation where a folder alias might be beneficial for UX.
