What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Mosuedown in view kernel body, but don't move mouse cursor
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

A gray dot appears in upper left corner of view kernel body, outside curve.
 This dot (the start of the selection rectangle) should appear under the
mouse cursor instead.
