I think the ADS would be way more useful if there was an upgrade that allowed it to reliably pain shock humanoid pawns (or even animals) for capture.

Agreed this would be very nice. Based on the weapons description and how many resources it takes I expected it to deal at least some damage, I was very disappointed when I found it only makes pawns/animals flee. When my ADS got destroyed by scythers I didn't even bother replacing it.
