Add ArcGIS Online to the Kits App Store #495

Open joliet opened 4 years ago

I am an instructor trying to use Kits for my ENVIRON course but an application I use for my course, ArcGIS, is not in the App Store. This makes me frustrated as I don't have a good way to share this app with my students without manually adding and updating the list of participants in the app.

How might we (the Kits project team), add ArcGIS to the Kits App Store? This application is used by the Nicholas School and a few other departments on campus (there is not a campus-wide license). How can we make this app available only to those who have a license to use it?

I assume we talking about an integration with https://software.duke.edu/node/37, is that the case?

I look forward to seeing this evolve. We've had the idea that non-enterprise and non-free apps would be requested for a while, happy the request has come forth.

We already provide ArcGIS to limited groups using VCM . I think that is the best option but we’d need to be sure the person doing the requesting have the rights to the licenses…

Hannah Jacobs requested this and I forgot until I looked at my notes again that she requested ArcGIS Online. I assume that's not what we have in VCM?

joliet commented 4 years ago

I will follow up with Hannah to get some clarification around this request.
