The "random" lag spikes cause by autosave are strange to someone who doesn't know what causes them. Especially since the even is called on mouse event, if you just move the mouse after a while of not doing anything it would freeze for a split second.
Best Solution.
Since we already have a toast system we may as well use it to let the user know that things are auto-saving. This might get annoying though since autosaves happen every n interval. So discussion is open.
Alternative Considerations
On the modeler tab where we have the command feedback area we could use that, but the other tabs dont have that.
