is there any plan to add android, ios, etc apps as well music library support?

DecDuck commented 1 year ago

There's a mobile app being development right now, not sure about the second one though.

aniel300 commented 1 year ago

for which platform ? and why not music support ?

vgarleanu commented 1 year ago

Android and iOS apps are in development right now. Tv apps arent yet.

We arent working on music support and wont be for a while as we want to get the movie/tv experience right first.

make sense, well keep up the good work cant wait for this project to succeed.

vip20 commented 1 year ago

is the repo for mobile apps public?

DecDuck commented 1 year ago

Not yet

lordkitsuna commented 1 year ago

might be a silly question but will the mobile apps also utilize rust? i know that flutter supports rust on both ios and android but i dont think ive seen any apps using rust with flutter yet.

vip20 commented 1 year ago

@lordkitsuna I've seen another project built on rust and flutter. Have a look at this appflowy https://github.com/AppFlowy-IO/appflowy

@DecDuck Hey, any updates on this one or an alfa build to play around?

DecDuck commented 1 year ago

I'm actually not the maintainer, just interested in the project. Maybe ping @vgarleanu

Really looking forward to this!

There's a major bottleneck with most native media streaming apps which I hope you'll consider addressing to incentive users to join this platform! Other apps lack the ability to add custom links to the sidebar/navigation-bar. The use-case for this is to to make a seamless experience for the user which allows you to make media requests through websites/PWAs like Overseerr while staying within the same app.

There's a project which tries to solve this, Reiverr but it needs more developers to reach the finish line..

Hey guys, I want to put up an update. Sadly life took a bit of a turn and I had to put dim on the back burner, that said we have complete designs for the mobile app and some prototypes for the mobile apps. I'm open to making them public but honestly theyre a bit shit.

Things that we do have in the mobile app is some limited browsing of your collections, and video playback via libmpv. Apps are built in react-native and dont use any rust tho :(. Perhaps we could use rust for the API lib but thats as far as i see it being applicable.

Would love to help out on the mobile apps. Wil they be open source so i can contribute?
