rewinding would be much easier than save-stating.

The point of this emulator is that it can be used for TASing (Tool-assisted 
Speedrun).
Rewinding may be a good alternative, but only savestates can be used for 
TASing. So sadly, you will have to make due with savestates for now.

It would help though if you screw up your savestate and don't have backup ones.
