Add preferences option to hide auto-generated configurations #1177

Some power users want full control over their list of configurations, and the auto-generated ones, based on installed versions, are in their way.

(Don't hide "last configuration"!)

If easier to implement, then instead add an option to "do not auto-generate" — then the user can manually remove the ones they don't want to see.
