License Question and Forking #19

Closed DeviPotato closed 7 years ago

Hi, I've forked this repository to update it with the new data from the last several months of splatoon updates, as well as add new features and functionality (such as the weapon-specific stat mods requested in #18 ). Your repository doesn't specify a license, so I would like to get permission if it is okay to continue work on this (and release it when i'm done). If you would like, I can submit a pull request when I've finished instead, but I am planning on refactoring some of the existing code and data structures (mostly gear).

Mostly interested because this project hasn't been updated since December and I'm not certain if it's abandoned or not.

You can see my (work in progress) fork so far here: https://github.com/DeviPotato/splatoon-calculator

Thank you.

Thanks for the message DeviPotato,

I have added the MIT licence so feel free to make modifications and release separately.

I have moved away from angular so maintaining this project isn't in my current interests, so if you would like you can make the necessary modifications and publish separately.

I am currently being lent the domain calc.splatoon.ink for this project so if you wish to publish under this domain let me know when you are ready and I will try to to transfer it to you.

Thanks for reaching out to me, all the best.

Thanks for the reply!

And thanks for adding a license. I like the work that you did on this project so I'm glad to be able to continue work on it.

I would like to publish under calc.splatoon.ink if that's possible--I'm hosting it from gh-pages so a CNAME for devipotato.github.io should be enough. Let me know if there's anything else you need from me for that (other than updating CNAME on my repo when it's ready).

If possible, I'd like to have a way to contact who you're lending it from as well, in case it needs to be moved again in the future or anything.

Thank you!

Hmm, I'm not sure how this works on GitHub. I'd expect you'll just want to remove the CNAME entry on the old repo and add one on the new one.

I removed the CNAMES from my repository, best of luck devipotato

Looks good. Thank you! Good luck on your future projects
