The dynamo logo under the addins menu is there but is greyed out.
Stack trace in the exception box alert says the null pointer is looking for : Dynamo.Applications.DynamoRevit.Execute
Where does dynamo get installed normally? C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit Architecture 2014\AddIns
Could i get some feedback on this ??
I am having a similar problem. Installation completed without any errors but dynamo logo does not appear in add-ins in either Revit or Vasari. Installed to default location of C:\Autodesk\Dynamo\Core.
No add-ins appear in C:\Users
What operating system are you working on and 32 or 64 bit? I don't see this on a Win 7 64, so trying to narrow this down.
I am using Win 7 (64-bit). I also made sure that when I installed the software I was logged on with administrator rights. Should there be a dynamo.addin file that was created? I searched for any *.addin files and found no such files that looked like they were related.
Thanks Dennis

a Dynamo.addin file should be created in
C:\Users
One other thing to try. Right click on the Dynamo installer and click "Run as administrator"
I get the adding on the hard disk in the user roaming location.
But when it all run it gets a null reference exception.
I also tried right clicking and running installer as admin. Did not solve problem. Same pattern of failure

What other .addin files do you have installed?
No luck with "Run as Administrator" The installation runs without errors but no addin is available. I have been able to install beta 4.0 and previous versions without an issue.
Below are additional "addin" files that appear.
PXBIMWLayout CoinsSectionBoxApp2014 ADNPlugin-StringSearch Autodesk.eTransmitApplication Autodesk.WorksharingMonitor Autodesk.EcotectWindRose Autodesk.SolarRadiation Autodesk.STLExport AddInManager

Has anyone got to the bottom of this? I too am having a great deal of trouble getting the install to register.
revit architect 2014 dynamo 0.5.2
The \AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins folder is empty and I can find no trace of the dynamo .addin file anywhere.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
Josh
I am still having this issue as well (albeit with Revit 2013 and Vasari beta3). I really would like to get this up and running.

Josh-N, Something seems a little off here in your screenshots. You said you are installing with only Revit 2014 installed, but your screenshots seem to indicate that is it only finding Vasari Beta 3.
D-Freeland, I suspect you might have a conflict with another addin, possibly PXBIMWLayout, but it could be something else. Can you try temporarily changing the .addin extension to another name (for example, PXBIMWLayout.addinX) for all your other .addin files to see if this changes anything?
Hi Zach, apologies I wasnt overly clear.
I have installed on this PC: Revit 2012 Revit 2013 Revit 2014 Vasari Beta 3
I have a few other addins installed but I've disabled them now with .addinx and still no luck
I also noticed that Vasari has created two folders within the my roaming profile, one stand alone vasri folder and one nested inside the revit folder, is this the intended structure?
I renamed the addin file extension but not luck. The installation is still not creating an .addin file for Dynamo. There are no error messages during installation and I am installing with administrator privledges.
Thanks Dennis Freeland

Ok I finally got to the bottom of what was happening.
I was running the install on my user profile on an office network - I don't have full administration rights, but when prompted I had a username/password to allow the install. However the installer still wasnt able to write the .addin file to the addin folder located in myroaming profile.
The only way to sucessfully install was to log in with full admin rights. Ensure that vasari and revit had been opened at least once so that the folders were created in the roaming profile, and then install Dynamo.
We now have the .addin file on a shared network drive so that we can locally install dynamo with an admin usnm/psswd, and then manually place the .addin in the roaming profile addin folder. This seems to work.
Hope this is useful for you D-Freeland.
so weird.
dynamo did not work for me. Now 2 weeks latter i open revit and dynamo icon is there and present.
the only change is a restart of my laptop and a single windows standard update in that time.
very strange indeed.
