would you want to buy a Dynatrace UFO instead of building it yourself? #13

If you would prefer to buy a Dynatrace UFO versus build it yourself, then please let us know. In case we get enough requests, we will let produce them for purchase.

Please post a comment to this issue in case you have interest to buy one. Also let us know how many pieces you would seriously need. We will follow up at the end of the year with next steps.

thanks for your replies, good to hear that there is demand. right now we are looking into upgrading to the ESP32 microcontroller, which allows us to provide better ease-of-use with the firmware and also better TLS and enterprise WIFI connectivity at practically no noticeable increase in cost.

the price is not finalized, but it will be in the range of 200-390 USD for a single unit. likely on the lower side in form of a package that includes multiple units and/or other offerings that are to be defined. note that we plan to produce at first a batch of 1000 pieces and the certifications eat up a lot of the cost producing it.

sounds reasonable?

thanks, good to hear. meanwhile i have some good news. you will be able to pre-order mid february. plan is to start shipping by june.

Good news, the Dynatrace UFO is now available for pre-order. They will be produced in June and shipped in July if everything goes as planned.
