The ability patch item to give hidden abilities does not work on any pokemon in the Greninja evolution line to give protean. Unsure whether it is intended to be possible to use the item to get battle bond, but that is impossible at the moment as well.

Take any pokemon in the Greninja line and right click on it with an ability patch in your hand.
