This could hinder users in other countries where names are predominantly in other languages, such as Chinese.

[This is the team's response to the above 'original' bug]
Hello, thank you for raising this concern. Our app currently focuses on English names, supporting alphanumeric characters and common abbreviations like s/o and d/o, as it is tailored for the Singapore context, where people with Chinese names often use the Han Yu Pin Yin transliteration to convert their Chinese names into English (e.g., 某物 becomes Mou Wu).
We understand that this limitation might create challenges for users in countries where names commonly use non-English characters, such as Chinese. This restricts the ability to add or edit Chinese characters. We appreciate your feedback and recognize the need to improve our user guide and developer documentation to clearly explain this limitation and the reasons behind it.
To be more inclusive, one way to deal with this is to use the Note function. Notes are less restrictive and can have Chinese Characters.
In the event where you want to find/search for 某物, you can use the search function as well
Side note: The above is applicable for non-english characters in general.
