Lim9 #306

is it ok if we bring this in master? i want to clean up for nggps runs. i ran tests from this branch on skybridge, unit tests are ok, short tests are ok, too, except for q6. for q6 in this branch, the tests are still for 9 days, so, i assume lim9 was branched from an older commit in master.

Yes, good to go. FYI, there are already unit tests for lim=9, so it's covered.
