Nico: We definitely care about synonym matches! 0.98 boost on exact match

Paola : Will you touch on plurals? E.g. ‘fan shaped body’ returns autocomplete results, but ‘fan shaped bodies’ doesn’t. Notably, it doesn’t work in full search either… We’ve had people request new terms when appropriate ones existed because they didn’t find the singular/plural quickly in OLS. Specifically for “irregular” plurals (body/bodies, trabecula/trabeculae…) (Nico: Also potentially languages)

Nico, Bradley, Zoë: In the same vein as what Paola says, British English vs American English. To consider common misspellings as well. Yes! British vs American English names for terms has been a big issue with Open Targets terms in the past, e.g. haemoglobin vs hemoglobin, oesophagus vs esophagus (off the top of my head).
